The Fifty Commands of Jesus

In many of my articles I speak about the commands of Jesus. I have found he had at least fifty so here is a list of them in an original list my mother typed up for your reference. There are many benefits to obeying Jesus.
The fifty commands of Jesus
1 Don't call Jesus Lord when you don't obey Him. Lk 6:46, Mt 7:21.
2 Build on the rock of obedience to Jesus otherwise you will fall. Mt 7:24-27, Lk 6:47-49.
3 Worship God alone. Mt 4:10b, Lk 4:8.
4 Follow Jesus. Mt 4:19, 11:28-30, Mk 1:17, Jn 1:43,12:26, 10:27, 21:22b.
5 Be salt and light to this world. Mt 5:13-16 Mk 9:50, Lk 11:33, 14:34. Jn 3:21.
6 Don't call your brother a fool. Mt 5:22, 12:36.
7 Practice instant reconciliation. Mt 5:24-25.
8 Do not look with lust at another this is adultery in the heart. Mt 5:27-28.
9 Do not divorce and marry another, this is adultery. Mt 5:32, 19:9, Mk 10:11-12.
10 Don't swear an oath. Mt 5:33-37.
11 Do more than expected, go the 2nd mile. Mt 5:38-41.
12 Give to those that ask. Mt 5:42, Lk 6:30, 38.
13 Love, bless and pray for your enemies. Mt 5:43-48, Lk 6:27-29.
14 Quietly do good for God's praise alone. Mt 6:1-4.
15 When you pray, fast or give do it secretly. Mt 6:5-6.
16 Don't use vain repetitions when praying. Mt 6:7-8, Mk 12:40.
17 Pray to God the Father. Mt 6:9, Jn 16:23-24.
18 Don't be anxious. Mt 6:25-32, Lk 12:22-30, Jn14:1, 16:33.
19 Store your riches in heaven not on earth. Mt 6:19-21, 33, Lk 12:21, 31-34, Jn 12:25.
20 Judge not that you may not be judged. Mt 7:1-5, Lk 6:37, 41-42, Jn 7:24.
21 Keep asking, seeking and knocking. Mt 6:9-11, 7:7-11, Lk 11:9-13.
22 Treat others as you like to be treated. Mt 7:12, Lk 6:31.
23 Don't waste time on argumentative people. Mt 7:6.
24 Forgive others. Mt 6:12, 14-15, 18:21, Mk 11:25-26, Lk 11:9-13.
25 Let the dead bury their dead. Mt 8:22, Lk 9:6a.
26 Don't fear people-fear God. Mt 10:28, 16:23, Lk 12:4-5.
27 Confess Christ before men. Mt 10:32-33, Mk 5:19, 8:38, Lk 9:26, 12:8-9.
28 Take up your cross. Mt 10:38-39, 16:24-26, Mk 8:34-37, Lk 9:23-26, 14:26-33.
29 Beware of hypocrisy and greed. Mt 15:6-9, 23:28, Lk 6:41-42, 12:1b, 20:46-47.
30 Privately rebuke a brother and if he repents forgive him. Mt 18:15, Lk 17:3-4.
31 Pay your taxes and give to God what is his. Mt 22:21, Mk 12:17, Lk 20:25, 21:4.
32 Love God and others. Mt 22:37-40, Mk 12:30-31, Lk 10:27, Jn 15:12, 13:34-35.
33 Keep alert and watch for the 2nd coming. Mt 24:44,46, 50-51, Mk 14:62, Lk 12:35-40, 21:27-28.
34 Honour God with all that you have been given. Mt 25:14-31, Lk 18:18.
35 Minister to others as you would to Jesus Himself. Mt 25:34-46.
36 Preach the Gospel and teach obedience. Mt 28:20, Mk 16:15, Lk 9:60b, Jn 21:15b, 16b, 17b.
37 Repent of your sins. Mk 1:15, Lk 13:3,5, Lk 15:7,10, 18-24.
38 Believe in Jesus Mk 16:16, Lk 9:35, Jn 12:36, 6:29, 20:29, 14:6.
39 Have child like faith. Mk 10:15, Lk 18:17, Mt 9:29.
40 Don't sell things in God's house. Mk 11:15-17, Jn 2:16.
41 Rejoice when you are persecuted. Lk 6:22-23.
42 Don't be distracted from hearing God's Word. Lk 10:38-42.
43 Act with compassion and not prejudice towards others. Lk 10:30-37.
44 Invite the poor to eat with you. Lk 14:13-14.
45 Humble yourself & take the lowest position Lk 14:8-11, 18:13-14, Mt 23:12, 19:30.
46 You must be born again. Jn 3:3, Jn 3:5-8.
47 Live in Me and live in My love. Jn 8:31-32, Jn 15:4, 9
48 Don't covet your bother's blessing Lk 12:13-15, 15:29-30
49 Be baptised Mt 29:19, Mk 16:16
50 Strive for perfection Mt 5:48, Jn 15:14

Do we not meet this type of challenging questioning more frequently than we would like to admit?
As faith in Jesus Christ and belief in the Bible as the Word of God are being marginalised this appears to be becoming more relevant and apposite.
How do you handle faith in Jesus Christ, when people suggest, that you are dumb, or daft, believing that?
A very strong 'philosophy', or personal viewpoint, these days is that there are no absolute truths.
Challenge that with, "Are you absolutely sure?" I found that so helpful recently in various conversations.
All ideas are not equally valid. Try dialling any telephone number to reach your home. Only one number enables you to reach home. Is there not a spiritual parallel?
This illustration I also found extremely helpful.
Jesus Christ taught, "I am the way and the truth and the life, and no man comes to Father except through me". Now, that statement in John Chapter 14 is absolutely true or Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is a liar, and I would not want to be in that camp of unbelief and rebellion.
Over these many years, I have found Jesus Christ, and the Bible, to be true, faithful and utterly and totally reliable.
Teenager Daniel had to undertake that three year educational programme, which was totally alien to his Hebrew upbringing, but he had decided in advance to stand for God.
He made up his mind, before the cultural and educational rigours confronted him.
Daniel protected his mind and his heart. He knew that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
When the Bible speaks of fools it does not refer to a lack of any mental or academic ability, but denotes one who is morally deficient.
Paul, writing to young Pastor Timothy, encourages him to study to show himself approved unto God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed.
God would have us be life-long students or disciples.
A wise man will steep himself in God's Word. We steep clothes in water. We steep a teabag in boiling water, soaking and saturating it, to release its taste and flavour.
Wisdom is not given, nor released, instantly.
Joshua was taught to study God's Word continually, and meditate upon it day and night, so that he may be careful to obey everything that is written in it, and become prosperous and successful.
"Meditate? Would I be able to meditate? Meditation is something I find very difficult. I do not think I could meditate."
Often, people will say this type of thing to me. Can we answer satisfactorily?
Most sincere people do want to know if we have sincere and genuine answers to their questions!
If you know how to worry, you know how to meditate!
Learn the truth, in order to discern the lies.

Daily Contemplation Prayers for Power and Direction

Father in heaven, Lord of my life in Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit's power,
YOUR PRESENCE - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly
In this, my daily prayer, as I sit/stand/kneel before You, I hope to know You, today, by Your Presence and Power in my life. This is my first prayer. As a Christ follower, I need You. I need You close to me, giving me Your protection and provision, and inviting me into You even as I experience same.
Teach me by Your Spirit, a correct worship, a holy way for living my life for Your glory. Place within me Your Sabbath Rest as I still myself and allow You to be God over my entire life - the fullest sense of worship - over my present moment, now.
I AM STILL - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly
[PAUSE & REFLECT FOR A FEW SECONDS]
YOUR GRACE - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly
My second prayer, Lord, is help me know how unworthy I am in and of myself, today, apart from Jesus, whose grace has saved me, and who makes me wholly worthy. Convince me so that I know I'm not as good as I think I am, and help me understand I'm not the victim my double-mindedness wants me to believe and propagate. Help me see Satan's wiles and snares, so in that moment I can call on You, Lord. Make me also to see my pocket entitlement; that rather than thinking I deserve this or that, that in truth I deserve nothing, but are given everything already in Christ.
I AM CHRIST'S - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly
[PAUSE & REFLECT FOR A FEW SECONDS]
YOUR AWARENESS - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly
My third prayer is that You would help me not hurt anyone, today, for I have such a dangerous tongue, and, that if I do, You'll give me the awareness and the courage to be able to make quick amends. Save others from me, Lord - the me without You. I am a person of unclean lips so susceptible to feeling hurt. God, make me more mature. But also, make me gentler on myself. May there be integrity between Your Word as I meditate on it, and the words my lips utter.
I AM AWARE - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly
[PAUSE & REFLECT FOR A FEW SECONDS]
YOUR PRAISE - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly
Give me the cognisance of Your grace that created the heavens and the earth, Lord. Bring before me the awareness of Your awesomeness, and bring forth instinctive praise from my lips. Cause gratitude to well up like a bubbling spring from deep within my soul. Sustain me in that joy. This, my fourth prayer, I can pray, today, having gotten some truths off my chest. Help me turn negatives into positives, Father. Enable me to replace anxieties and uncertainties with stillness and security, in You, for You who created all creation can create anything by the law of love.
I AM IN AWE - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly

YOUR TRUTH - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly
Oh Lord, help me to carry the awareness of my sin ever before me, not so I may be condemned - because I know I'm not - but that through knowing the truth, that the truth would set me free. You have taught me, Lord, that it's only when I see the log in my own eye that I do not notice the speck in the others' eye that otherwise proves unhelpful. Thank You for the glorious gift of this wisdom. This, today, my fifth prayer.
I AM HONEST - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly
[PAUSE & REFLECT FOR A FEW SECONDS]
YOUR WISDOM - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly
And, today, more wisdom. My sixth prayer is for wisdom, Lord. I lack it so much. The errors of my sinful nature have revealed this truth to me, God. You put people into my life, and You put me into life situations, that I would depend on You by drawing on them to discern Your way for my life. Show me how to keep proper perspective in when and how to draw upon others without living a life dependent on others making my decisions for me. In the moment, help me reconcile the wisdom I so clearly lack.
I AM DEPENDENT - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly
[PAUSE & REFLECT FOR A FEW SECONDS]
YOUR PROTECTION - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly
My seventh and final prayer, Lord, is for safety and health, today, for everyone in my world; my wife, my children, my family, my friends, my work colleagues, to the extent of everyone I know. Direct our paths to safety, God. Bless us and keep us, Lord.
[PAUSE & REFLECT FOR A FEW SECONDS]
I AM SAFE - inhale fresh air, breathe the words out slowly

"True, it's not always easy to imagine places you've never been but dream of going; owning things you've never had but dream of having; and being the type of person you've never been but aspire to be. But it is easy to imagine the after-party. With best friends and family in the swankiest club you know while your favorite music plays. Proposing toasts, receiving toasts, crying happy tears. Getting hugs, hearing congratulations, leading the conga-line. And otherwise carrying on as you do when you're feeling light as a feather and all the world makes sense.
And that should pretty much do it.
Follow yourself!
The Universe"
The feeling of success is impalpable. Feeling it flowing into your veins give you chills and makes you want it more. You start looking at new homes, exotic cars, vacation spot to go with your family and so on and so forth. You work harder to make these dreams come true so you can experience the success you've been thriving for. Everyday, you wake up at the crack of dawn to start your day right, go work out, eat right, meditate before the day starts, read the news, and be pumped into action. Every calls you make, every deal you close is getting you closer and closer to making your dreams a reality. It doesn't need to be to acquire wealth, even though it does help get what you want, but primarily making you HAPPY. Whatever makes you happy is what you need to aim for, and that is the true meaning of success. We all have our own definition to what success is and this is how it should be.
We all want different things out of life and that is OK by all means. NO one should decide what is best for you because that is your job, especially when being an adult. We all strive for becoming unique by doing something that no one has done before. Your hard work will pay off. As long as you believe in yourself, as long as you keep on moving forward, despite the challenges you will face daily, you will get to your destination. Your thoughts will primarily create the path to your success, but your belief and actions is what will pave that path towards your destination. Just focus on the grand picture and the rest will follow. Never deter from your dreams and never let anyone come in between what you truly believe in, and that is YOURSELF.

One of the strongest influences I have come to realize after years of doing psychic readings and numerology readings, and the most often asked question many of us would like to know is, "Is this person my soul mate?" The word itself, soul mate, arouses not only those all important instincts to be with a person we like to think is meant to be, but to know if the object of our desire is indeed "the one." Or is it a false positive, or just a hunger for what we want the most and experience the least?
Soul Mate. It conjures up an often held belief that we are destined to find at some point in our lives the one person who is our other half, the other side of the equation that completes us, the ultimate fulfilling love we are bound to. You know, not the one we're with now necessarily and only feel that it's, well, just OK; perhaps they will do until the real one comes along. Not that one. The one who when we meet them, we'll just know and feel something we have never felt before. You just have a feeling that they are the one. Only problem is you've met a number of people who could fit that description. And that is the thing. Is a soul mate the sole person with whom you can establish a profound connection with to the exclusion of all others, a sole mate? Are we left abandoned and to some degree alone if we never find that feeling or meet that one person that was born to fulfill this burning drive for our ultimate companion traveler or love partner on this plane of existence.
What Is It? For many of us, but not all, it most certainly is a desire we need to fulfill so strong that we believe we could not ever truly be complete or truly happy unless we do. So one must suspect that the soul mate is a tremendous connection that the forces of nature, or God, or destiny will manifest in our life time. Without this special connection, we may feel lost, not special, that God has abandoned us or worse, that we just must not have been worthy enough to be destined for that special relationship in this life. Leaving us feeling incomplete. So, is it our destiny to find the one always? Is there one person who can fulfill us.
Through my meditations, I have channelled knowledge, truth from higher consciousness. In one such meditation, and this was before I had read similar information on the subject of soul mates or twin flames. I received this message: we are all born into soul groups. Within these groups there are definite experiences we are, say, slated to have. You may chose who and when but only within the soul group you were born into. Free will plays an important role in our lives at all times. Randomness is an important part of the experience. Otherwise, we'd all be robots without the need of consciousness or free will. So within our groups we are supposed to have options which are in fact random within the boundary of the soul group. For example, you have a recipe for a pie. There are ingredients that make up the pie that you must use to make it, but you can choose what kind of pie it will be and you may mix up the ingredients, you can make it now or later. So our soul group is made of many different people but certain people are there that you "must" have an experience with in order to get to the next level. But you can choose. Some of these can be comprised of your family, friends, associates, etc. Outside of your family (which is pre-determined), you must choose. Some you will meet, some you have met before. That feeling of familiarity or feeling like you have met or known someone before is because you have. Sometimes these are karmic relationships. Think of them as ongoing relationships from past lives that were not resolved in some way and you both have chosen to be here now. When this happens sometimes there is a feeling of happiness and kindred spirit, initially. Definitely someone in your soul group. A soul mate! Soul Mate relationships are not always of the pleasant variety as many of us know.
Don't Get It Wrong.
Sometimes we mistake this feeling of familiarity and kindred spirit with that person being the one (life mate). Because the feelings and attraction are so strong. You will be attracted to a Soul Mate! It goes with the territory. The question here is how to know when they are the one you are meant to have a long-term relationship with that leads to marriage, children, etc. The truth is that we have many soul mates when we incarnate in being. You get to choose from the available souls (in your group). What is most important and seldom thought of is that we are meant to have the experience! To learn to grow from being with, around that person whether or not it leads to an ultimate life mate type of relationship. Life is short, learn fast. Because even if the soul mate you are with now does not lead to marriage or a permanent long-term relationship, what has been learned will lead you to your next experience that you will also choose. Stay with me.
Therefore, try to think outside of the box. Think of life as a place we have come to learn, grow, evolve. To become enlightened and ascend to higher spiritual planes. Our relationships, choices and decisions define how we live our life but more importantly, how we will live our future.
Are You Ready for Your Soul Mate?
In the beginning, our souls split into two (twins). One half feminine, the other masculine. Think of it like the positive and negative charge in the nucleus of an atom. Although both charges naturally repel each other, there is a stronger force that overcomes it creating something potentially very powerful. We incarnate over and over, we come together and live life sometimes together and others times apart--but constantly searching for each other, while constantly evolving. Eventually, you will have the Twin Flame relationship on this plane of existence if sufficiently evolved to match/equal the force or potency of the other. But ultimately your souls will join again and be one. And for this reason, we walk this earth in search of our other half and have an instinctive, powerful drive to find it. And this is why it is so important to us all at some point in our evolution. It is like the air we breathe. It is an essential aspect of the soul formation and its destiny to be back as one. We are just at the incipient stages of this development, this love story here on earth, and the journey is just as important as this destination! "My parents hated each other," Anna said quietly, "but they never divorced." I could feel the pain throbbing deep in Anna's heart, pulsing out from her soul like cold waves. As I mentally blessed Anna and asked my guides to help me help her, a presence that identified itself as Anna's father stepped in. There was an uneasy energy around him, as if he was trying to block something. Was his message filled with anger and, if so, would Anna be hurt by hearing from him? Should I censor his words? I thought. No, Anna had the right to hear from her father's spirit - if that's what she truly wanted. So I began the session by asking, "Anna, do you want to know everything?"
Asking "Do you want to know everything?" is a technique I learned from English medium Lisa Williams. When working one-on-one with a client, asking that question takes the onus off me to edit spirit's words. I've had energies come in using salty language, and a couple female spirits identified themselves to their husbands using descriptions better suited to Playboy magazine. Because I didn't edit spirits' words, clients were always able to identify the presence.
Anna looked at the floor for a moment before answering, "Yes."
In my mind, I asked the spirit to step closer to me. "He's calling himself 'father'. There are scars on his arms. He feels like a gruff man. He's showing me a belt. And now he's throwing it away. Do you understand this?"
Anna's eyes filled with tears. "Yes," she said, reaching for the box of tissues on my desk. "Oh, yes."
I felt Anna's sadness within me. "He's bringing in another spirit. This motherly energy is gentler. She feels tired. I see her lying in bed. She wants to thank you for the roses."
Anna looked bewildered. "What's she doing with him? They couldn't stand each other. They stayed together because they were so religious, the only thing worse than staying married was getting divorced." Quietly, she added, "He was a brute. He made both our lives miserable."
Anna's father spoke to me, and I repeated his thoughts: "He's sorry for the way he acted. It was the way he was brought up in the old country. Family men were expected to be tough and punishing. He's asking for forgiveness-"
"Enough!" Anna said angrily. "I'm supposed to forgive him, and everything will be fine? Because of him, I've had three bad marriages. It's his fault that my life is so awful!" Her teeth clenched. "No way! No way!"
Instantly, I no longer felt the spirits of Anna's parents.
I closed my eyes and white-lighted the room to help clear away the negativity. Then I opened a drawer in my desk and took out my list of references - phone numbers, websites and reputable counselors who offer services I'm not qualified to give. I keep the list because I have another rule, thanks again to Lisa Williams: Never allow a client to leave emotionally distraught. And my rule: Always give the client hope.
I gently recommended that Anna talk with a therapist I trusted who specialized in anger management and family dynamics. Anna grudgingly wrote the woman's phone number on a slip of paper, then silently left my office.
As I reflected on the session, I wondered if it was best than I told Anna everything about her father. Spirit whispered to me that sometimes, the only way people can move forward is to hear what's blocking them from enjoying life. Anna has her journey, just as we all have our unique paths to walk. And spirit walks with us and encourages us to move toward the light of grace.

Pervasive eerie feelings of dread overshadows our logic and understanding when an unexplained event is occurring. Somehow we automatically associate encounters of the paranormal as being something demonic or fearful. Rarely, it seems, do psychic participants take offense at these invasions by apparitions no matter how astonished they may be. In one intriguing experience my colleague Yvonne had called me from her mobile phone asking me to assist her in disarming a benevolent spirit who was at that very moment causing her great distress because she was on the road traveling to another town.
Convinced of a psychic attack of some sort I asked Yvonne to focus her attention on one single object in her view. It was difficult at first getting her to concentrate on anything but with continued verbal persuasion she managed to focus on a street sign up ahead and as she did the spirit fell quiet. Yvonne explained to me that she had just come from a weekend psychic fare where she had been working non-stop. Her last customer was a person who had several entities attached causing the person much sorrow to the point of losing everything, their home, their job and marriage.
The encounter Yvonne experienced was one of those horrific events we tend to associate with a thriller on the big screen. She explained that her car began to shake as if in an earthquake and when she pulled to the side of the road, outbursts of flames surrounded the car. While on the phone with me, she described a human shape appearing out of the flames.
Accounts of paranormal encounters such as Yvonne's are numerous, unfortunately, most have gone undocumented in fear of being ridiculed by our piers and quite of often making us doubt the experience of ever happening at all. We tend to 'create' reasons for it not to be real such as stress or sleep deprivation to be the culprit even though we may have just come from a day spa and had 8 hours of sleep.
Encounters of the paranormal happen all the time here in the 21st Century. The barrier between the dimensions are down. There is barely any veil at all between this physical world and the spirit world. People around the world are capable of seeing ghostly apparitions, visitors from other worlds, and from time to time we have visitors from other time periods.
An ever growing number of people are now beginning to explore their own intuitive process and are seeking out practitioners to guide them into a new reality in the supernatural world we live in. In my opinion it is just a matter of time that we acknowledge evidence of collective fixations of thinking of the paranormal as the new "normal".
There have been several references to shadow creatures and shadow people to paranormal encounters. It seems that these shadow beings are attaching themselves to the investigators. It leads me to wonder if these beings are actually trying to communicate with us now whereas before they would disappear the minute you faced them head on.
