By Dana Michelle Burnett | Submitted On January 22, 2014 Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article Expert Author Dana Michelle Burnett In researching all things paranormal for my writing, I come across all sorts of beliefs and superstitions. From four leaf clovers to black cats, onto witches and their familars to full moons and broken mirrors, I've read articles and stories on just about everything. One that came up surprisingly often, at least in my opinion, was the belief in Gypsy curses. What exactly is a Gypsy curse? How do they differ from a regular curse? And more importantly are they real? Well, despite all my reading, I still have no idea. The myth is centered around the Gypsies or Romani people and seems to go all the way back to the Middle Ages. The Romanies are descended from nomads of India. The moved from area to area, even into Europe where the legends about them mixed with prejudice. It seems that in India, there was a strict caste system in place and that the outcasts of that system eventually left to wander the land. One theory is that these outcasts became the Gypsy people and were made up of those that were casteless including thieves, actors, musicians, and magicians whose magic conflicted with local religion. It was said that over time some of the Gypsy people developed psychic powers, p-erhaps from their magician ancestors. These gifts included the ability to see into the future, could speak with the dead, and were able to levitate. Eventually, the rumors of these harmless supernatural gifts took a darker turn and there was talk of Gypsy curses. Gypsy curses were blamed for everything from crop failures and sick livestock to spoiled milk and deaths. There were some people, Gypsy and non-Gypsy, that were said to be able to remove the curse... For a price. More often than not, the hexed individual had to find the original Gypsy that cursed them and beg for the curse to be lifted. There didn't seem to be any difference between a Gypsy curse and the curse from any other "magical" entity. The only real difference was other curses disappeared into folklore while Gypsy curses just seemed to be the legend that refused to die. To the rational mind, fear of Gypsy curses was nothing more than an excuse to ridicule and hate a group of people whose culture most do not understand, but as a writer, I have to admit that it makes for some really interesting reading. Many a nightmare and horror film has been inspired by haunted dolls. Could the truth be even more terrifying? Read on to learn about two cases of real haunted dolls and the horror they created? Robert the Doll: Residing at the Key West Martello Museum, Robert is a doll that was once owned by painter and author Robert Eugene Otto. Known in the family as Eugene, he was given the doll in 1906 by a Bahamian servant that was skilled in voodoo and black magic arts. It is said that she was displeased with the family and placed a curse on the doll. With that, the stories of Robert the Doll begin. Shortly after the boy was given the doll, his parents often heard him talking to the doll and the doll answering. At first they believe it was there son playing both parts, but eventually came to believe that it was the doll actually speaking. Sometimes the doll would giggle in a frightening way and they would glimpse him running from room to room. Guests in the home claimed to see Robert the Doll blink or his expression change suddenly and neighbors claimed to see the doll moving from window to window when the family was out. Eventually the pranks grew worse, such as things being broken and the boy always claimed that "Robert did it". During the night, Eugene would wake screaming and when his parents entered his room, they would find furniture overturned and Eugene in his bed terrified claiming "Robert did it". Eventually the family grew tired of the dolls antics and moved Robert to a box in the attic. When Eugene's parents died and he inherited the house, he found Robert and brought him down from the attic. Eugene's wife claimed that the doll's expression changed. She placed Robert in the attic again, Eugene flew into a rage and brought him down again claiming Robert needed a room of his own where he could see the street. Finally Eugene gave in and moved the doll to the attic, but visitors to the house still heard him moving about upstairs and on more than one occasion he was seen in the window. Though he was supposed to be in the attic, Robert would often appear in the downstairs rooms and again Eugene would say that "Robert did it". Eugene died in 1974 and the house was sold with Robert still up in the attic. The new family's ten year old daughter found Robert and claimed him for her own. It wasn't long before she began screaming at night, claiming the doll moved about the room and tried to kill her. Years later, she still tells people that the doll was alive and tried to kill her. Today, Robert the Doll resides at the museum and even has his own website at RobertTheDoll.org. He is known to turn the museum lights on at night and to even tap on the glass as people walk by. It is said that before you take his picture, you are to ask for permission, he will tilt his head slightly if he approves. Even professionals, such as the camera crew for The Travel Channel, had problems with their equipment until they begged for Robert's forgiveness and asked nicely if they could film him. Visitors flock to see Robert the Doll and he was even the inspiration for the movie Child's Play. For all of the reasons, he is one of the most famous haunted dolls in history. And yet, it seems like all these events have been foretold from ancient times and they're recorded n a source that few would expect. Many of the prophetic visions were described in symbolic terms, making it harder to decipher. That's where many, throughout the ages, were to give up on even trying interpreting the meaning. But in recent times they have been decoded and the results are quite amazing. It makes one wonder how much control we have over our own destiny when we see the accuracy of things that were foretold in the past that have subsequently happened throughout the ages up to this current time. It appears to have all been preordained. Even as we read these lines, our future seems to be mapped out for us. If you're familiar with the Rapture and the Bible, you will likely be shocked at what you're about to read. If you're non-religious and never looked at the Bible, you'll be amazed at some of the prophecies it contains relating to our future. Either way, be warned, this is a different viewpoint to traditional interpretation. One of the first terms we're going to look at is the word Angel. What does Angel mean? In Greek, the meaning of the name Angel is "messenger". The word has generally been interpreted as a Being that is not of this Earth, a heavenly Being with extraordinary powers. Now if we look at the term extraterrestrial, the word strikes fear in many, disbelief in others and sometimes acceptance to a few. The word extraterrestrial simply means something above or beyond this terrestrial plane, often portrayed as having extraordinary or superhuman powers. A simple comparison of the two descriptions shows that the two terms can be interchangeable. Some might argue that extraterrestrials, or the notion of extraterrestrials is unproven, but the same argument could be said about angels. If we look at earlier civilizations on this planet, which I think we would all agree were primitive in comparison with our modern age, the appearance of other-worldly Beings with extraordinary powers would seem phenomenal. These super human Beings coming down from heaven (the sky), would appear as gods, or God's messengers. To these earlier people, who had no knowledge of such things, these occurrences would appear to be miracles. Now when we consider biblical quotations in that light, where angel is interchangeable with extraterrestrial and heaven with sky, we start to get a different picture about what these prophecies are showing. The whole purpose of this exercise is to look at biblical prophecy in a different light, so we're going to be quoting a lot from the Bible, particularly from the King James version to get the original translation. This is likely to be a double-edged sword, where those who are not religiously minded might take exception and those who are religiously minded might take offence. All I ask is that you persevere and keep an open mind. Having a keen interest in prophecy and visions, as recorded in various sources throughout the ages, the author looks at prophetic visions from the most well-known reference, the Bible, particularly from Daniel and Revelations. Viewing these from an independent perspective, the interpretation is different from the traditional viewpoint and will challenge some readers. Moore For the past five years I have communicated telepathically with a member of my soul group or "cluster," who's having a life on a water planet in the Sirius B Star System. The majority of people believe in telepathy, and even universities, such as Duke University, have done experiments with two sets of individuals-one to be the sender and one to be the receiver. What they have not discovered yet is that if both sender and receiver would be in a light Alpha, meditative state, the results would be at the top of the chart, with just a little bit of practice. And the sender and receiver would not need to be in the same room or across campus. They could be halfway around the world from each other. Plus they wouldn't just be able to send and receive if a shape is square, round or triangle, but whole sentences. I've found you can be across the universe and are able to instantly receive what are called "thought packets" from another being. Naturally it helps if that being is connected to you, as my "brother on another planet" Antura is. During one of my "active meditations," as I call them, with what we term my own Guardian Angel I named Theo, he introduced me to my soul brother, Antura. Since that time I've asked hundreds of questions, as he explained he's under the same rules given to me by Theo. He will answer all my questions, but I have to ask them. As an example, I can't just say, "Tell me what you look like." I have to go into minute detail regarding arms, legs, hands, feet, gills (yes, he's an amphibian), his eyes, skin color, and much, much more. If you ever saw the Hellboy movies, one of the characters is an amphibian by the name of Abe Sapien. If you do a search for images you'll get somewhat of an idea of what Antura looks like. All I was told at first is that I would be able to meet with him and hitch a ride on a real flying saucer. I thought that was fantastic. As he was to explain much later, they never want to overwhelm us with information. "Spoon feed" was one term he used. It seems I'm to be one of 12 "grass roots" contactees with whom he and his "first contact" team will meet when they travel to earth in 2017 on board one of those giant motherships with a crew of 850 assorted beings. That will be two years after the Pleiadians make first "public" contact in Russia in 2015. They wish to include normal people so as not to seem elitist when they meet with government and scientific people. What he did not explain to me until shortly before I stopped compiling my book, was that as I've been in the international film and TV program distribution business for the past 30 years, I would also be shooting the first documentary on a mothership, along with my family (my daughter is a film school graduate). We will be interviewing humanoids of various sizes, plant beings, bird beings, insect beings, and even a couple of reptilians on board. They are all one big happy family, according to Antura, although the reptilians "tend to stick to themselves." I mention this because there really was a Star Wars a couple of million years ago when reptilians from another galaxy attacked this quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy, and the war lasted thousands of universal years (one universal year equals 10 earth years). It was a nasty affair and billions of beings died. Antura explained that the actual war was much worse than our science fiction movies depicted. Instead of destroying just a planet, they would destroy the sun, thereby destroying all of the planets in that solar system. But everything is peaceful now. Two hundred planets in this quadrant of the galaxy banded together after the war and formed the Federation of Planets for protection, trade, and sharing of knowledge. There are six other federations of planets in this galaxy, all but one friendly. That one wants to be left alone, and so they are. Before the Sirians arrive, in approximately 2016, the Zeta Greys will come to apologize for abducting almost 26,000 people worldwide in order to use their DNA to create a hybrid race, as their race was dying. That should be interesting. The Pleiadians will be first, as they look just like us, with slight differences. Just the fact there are other beings in the universe that look like earth humans will be tremendous news. Again, Antura says they will not go into great detail on their first trip, "spoon-feeding" us a little more information on each one of their subsequent trips to earth. I asked Antura how they're able to travel such vast distances, and the best description I received was that they "portal hop." He says no one can go from side of even our galaxy in one hop, but through a series of portals. He compared it to traveling on Southwest Airlines from the East Coast of the United States to the West Coast, with intermediate stops along the way. When I expressed surprise at the comparison, he said, "Tom, we know EVERYTHING about you. We've studied you for thousands of years." Another surprise I had was when I asked him how many portals does the earth have. He said we have 60 portals, all very close to the earth. We're like Grand Central Station. One or two portals even go to the next universe, which we can even see in our night sky. We think it's part of our universe. He says most planets have far fewer portals-many only one. That should tell you how important our "Earth Experiment" is to the rest of the universe. In summary, we're in for some very exciting times in the near future as we learn about our true history. Even though I was a very normal kid, with a very normal family, each night I would be terrified to go to bed from fear. I would have vivid dreams of horrifying events such as my house burning down, with Satan himself looking into my room, laughing. Most of these nightmares had Satan in them, and I often woke up not knowing what to do, or what caused these nightmares. After a while, I started noticing something very peculiar. Every morning, I was waking up at exactly 3 A.M.; not one minute more, not one minute less. Every morning, nightmare or not, I was beginning to awaken, and see the big red LED's glowing on my alarm clock telling me again, I had awoken at the same time. This in itself was very frightening, but I had always managed to get back to sleep. After around a week of noticing this, some very peculiar events began to happen. One particular morning, I woke up with no nightmare at the prompt time of 3 A.M. I was trying to go back to sleep, when I heard some odd noises. I heard what sounded like a side door in my kitchen, 3 rooms away from me, slam shut. I thought this was very odd, as everyone in my house was asleep. My heartbeat quickened instantly, and sleep seemed very distant to me. I waited, trying to block out anything I might hear, and hid my head under the covers. A few minutes passed, and I heard a stranger sound- something that of dropping a penny on a metal surface. Again, this sound radiated from my kitchen. I closed my eyes, and tried to calm myself down so I could get to sleep and forget what was happening. Seconds later, I felt my feet getting extremely cold, and tucked them underneath my covers. The cold spread to my body- and I was frozen with fear. Two rooms away from mine, my living room, I heard the sliding of a chair on a tile surface. I found this very odd, as we have a carpeted living room. Things were starting to get more active, and I was frozen with fear still. At the climax of things, I heard 5 loud stomps coming into the hallway outside of my room, and stopped right outside my door. My heart was beating almost outside of my chest, as I curled up into a ball and prayed that the experience stop. I couldn't sleep that morning, and waited two hours until my father got up to go to work. At this point, I felt comfortable enough to sleep, and did. Since this incident, I have gotten increasingly better about nightmares. The following days, I still woke up at 3 A.M. in the morning for another week or so. Every now and then, I will still experience minor oddities. Recently, I was brushing my teeth and the bathroom door close shut all by itself. Things like this have made me believe in ghosts- even if I never caught a glimpse. In many cases hearing is believing- just as much as sight. To this day, if I wake up in the early morning, I sometimes will turn the television on to keep my mind off of this particular incident, and sleep with it on. I'm not fond of repeating this occurrence to anyone, as it invokes old memories I wish to forget. For instance, they're not "caught between worlds." And they don't need us to help them "move on." They're exactly where they're supposed to be. You don't honestly think that God, the Creator of the Universe, would leave their eternal fate in your and my hands, do you? You CAN say that they are "earthbound," but that's because their consciousness never left the earth. And when you die, yours won't either. We're all right here together forever. That's just the nature of the afterlife. Yes, knowing the laws of the afterlife can make these things a lot clearer. Lately, I've been researching what folks believe about ghosts and hauntings. I've investigated the investigations. Repeatedly I've read, "We don't use ouija boards, séances, mediums or occult methods." Yet it's common for ghost researchers to accept, as an underlying condition of their investigations, the erroneous claims of psychics, mediums, and channels. I'm referring to such concepts as "caught between worlds," "unfinished business," "earthbound souls," and ghost children in distress. At the same time ominous warnings urge vigilant caution in case non-human demons and malevolent entities are encountered. Oh, and don't forget the Hollywood expression, "Go to the light." Scientific research can't be conducted properly on a foundation of superstition. Let me tell you some things that are true about ghosts. Actually there are only two kinds of ghosts: real and not-real. The real ghosts are everywhere. They're in your home, in your car, in your school, and in your dreams. Ghost researchers call these interactive ghosts. I call them soul-ghosts, or disincarnate souls. I don't care for the term, disembodied because they do have a body. We just can't see it for the same reason that we can't see sound waves and ultraviolet light. They're outside the range of our sentient boundary. Soul-ghosts are interactive. They reach out to you, and you feel no fear ... absolutely none. They envelop you in a blanket of warm fuzzies. Real ghosts can be mistaken for angels. This isn't a paranormal experience. It's a supernatural and spiritual experience. The not-real ghosts seem to be everywhere too, but only for people that believe they exist, or at least believe that they might exist. They rarely bother unbelievers. Ghost researchers call the not-real ghosts ... residual ghosts. These ghosts seem to defy the Law of Conservation of Matter and Energy because they pop in and out of existence like virtual particles. The appearance of this type of ghost can be explained by quantum physics. From the Copenhagen Interpretation, which states that nothing is real until you look at it, to the holographic theory of the universe, all ghosts abide by the laws of quantum physics. People that experience residual ghosts say that they seem to be caught in a time-loop replaying the same scene over and over. The above mentioned physics also apply to residual ghosts but with the addition of Schrodinger's equations. For every "now" that we experience, a positive wave flows into the future and a negative wave flows into the past like concentric ripples created by a rock thrown into a pond. The fact that some people experience residual ghosts is due to normal functions of human consciousness. Although some might rather think of it as a "glitch." Residual ghosts are unusual and fascinating experiences with natural causes. Briefly, a few more types of not-real ghosts are poltergeists, demons, and shadow people. Abnormal psychology applies to poltergeists and demons. The physiology of the eye accounts for shadow people. So, what's the truth about ghosts? Do they exist? Yes, of course they do. Can the scientific method be used to investigate them? Yes, they use measurable amounts of energy. Can you record their voices and photograph ghosts? Yes, but one needs to be alert to pattern recognition tendencies. The science of ghost investigation has the potential to make a huge difference in a society still tormented by superstition and fear. You have the equipment. You have the rationale. And you have the compassionate desire to help others. These are the beings which are short, have big heads, large black eyes and skinny bodies. There are many references to them in our history, art and in our stories. The Byzantine Empire was around from 330 AD to 1453 AD. You may be wondering what these two fact could possibly have in common. I have a reason for mentioning both. Recently I have come across an artifact. The artifact is a small Byzantine cross, the type which hangs from a chain around one's neck. The cross is really a crucifix, but one with a huge difference. This crucifix does not have the Christ on it, it has a Gray being crucified. I do not know the age of it, but it is clearly old. At first I thought it might have been an image which was so worn it just looked that way, but on further examination of the figure one can clearly see the shape of the head is bulbous and not the shape of a human head, but fits the accepted shape of a Gray's head. The eyes look very large and seem to be of the same shape we have pictured a Gray's eyes to look. There is a link at the end of this article to photos of the Gray. The figure on the crucifix seems to be dressed in a robe of some type, which is also not traditional. It is hard to tell the material the crucifix is made from, but a cursory inspection makes me think it is bronze. If the crucifix is what it seems to be, a portrayal of a Gray being crucified, why was it created? Is there some sort of message here? Another question which has to be asked is, was it made by a human? It is amazing to me that no one else paid any attention to this artifact during the at least 600 years or so of its existence. It could even be up to 1,800 years old. There are a lot of strange artifacts in the world and quite frankly I didn't expect to find one. Talking about strange things, I would like to talk about the Black Knight satellite again. The satellite was named after a British launch of a satellite, but has nothing to do with that. Nikola Tesla stated he had intercepted radio signals from space back in 1899. He had no idea where they came from and a few years later Marconi also intercepted radio signals from space. Today most believe both interceptions were from the same object. There is a lot of history about the Black Knight satellite. While some say it was first seen optically just before the turn of the 20th century most think the Soviets were the first to detect it as it passed Sputnik. The problem was sometimes it could be detected and other times it could not be found. On top of that there were times when more than one satellite was found. These satellites were orbiting in the opposite direction satellites launched by humans travel. They were also traveling up to three times faster than our satellites. The first Defense Department report contained the size and approximate weight of the Black Knight satellite, which was about 19 feet long and about 32,000 pounds in weight. The report came out at a time when we were not capable of launching anything of that size. The object was in a polar orbit. The government knew all this, but began to hide the facts by claiming this satellite was nothing more than one we launched. They said it was Discoverer V. Discoverer V weighed only 450 pounds and only stayed in orbit for about two months. It has been estimated the satellite we call Black Knight has been in orbit for at least 13,000 years. Some say it is even older. I have to admit I would like to know how anyone could date it but I will get to that later, as far as I can see we probably only know for sure it was up there since Tesla got a signal and even then we can't be sure it came from there. There are a lot of stories about this satellite, but one which I find quite interesting is a story which states the message the satellite is putting out has been decrypted. The following was said to be the message: "Start here. Our home is Upsilon Bootes, which is a double star. We live on the sixth planet of seven, coming from the sun, which is the larger of the two. Our sixth planet has one moon. Our fourth planet has three. Our first and third planets each have one. Our probe is in the position of Arcturus, known in our maps." It has been said the description given by the probe matches the positions of the planets in Upsilon Bootes 13,000 years ago and hence the age estimate. So why would any other culture put such a satellite in orbit around a planet, especially when the planet was supposedly inhabited by cavemen? I guess there could be several reasons why. One reason might be we were far more advanced in ancient times than we have been told. Another reason might be they wanted to watch our progress and felt by the time we had reached a point where we could travel to meet them we would be ready to join them in some kind of a confederation. There is also the possibility if the probe is really 13,000 years old the race that sent it might not exist anymore. The Black Knight satellite has become a sort of cult object. The stories about it just keep coming and they have probably added a lot of fiction to the discovery. The probe is there and for all we know, the latest secret missions by our newest spacecraft the X-37B might have had something to do with finding out more about the Black Knight. I am not saying it does, just that it might. This also makes me wonder if any of the space shuttle flights investigated it. There is at least one more thing we have to wonder about. If it is 13,000 years old might not the race that sent it also have progressed and is now routinely sending ships to this planet? They could account for at least some of the UFO sightings. He described the debris to appear as Aluminum Foil, but he noticed when you were to bend the material it would bounce back to its original form. As soon as his Commanding officer heard that he secretly took some debris home with him, the commanding officer made him hold pieces of a weather balloon to convince the public it was nothing more than a failed weather balloon. This was the start of the UFO cover up. Have you noticed an advance of technology during the 1950's well Conspiracy theorists think that we achieved this level of technology by the United States Government using and modifying extraterrestrial technology. Conspiracy Theorists say that night vision goggles were most likely built from the eye of an extraterrestrial pilot. All of this technology has been achieved a few years after the Roswell incident occurred. Several men like Boyd Bushman have come forward during their last months before dying revealing all sorts of Government secrets. Bushman claimed he experienced and worked with extraterrestrial technology. Bushman also claimed that he visited the mysterious Military Base known as Area 51 which was not acknowledged as an actual place until 2013 when the CIA revealed its existence. While working at Area 51 he claimed to have met several extraterrestrial beings. He also supplied the interviewers with photos of alien beings. One being called J-rod, which was the nickname the workers at area 51 gave this alien since they did not speak the same language. They also had to develop a different type of way for them to communicate. The wow signal was another sign of alien life detected on August 15th 1977 by Jerry Ehman while working on an SETI project at the Big Ear Radio telescope of the Ohio State University. The signal also was claimed to had lasted 72 seconds. Which is the longest recorded signal recorded. While Jerry was reviewing the data he was so impressed he wrote Wow! On the side of the paper. Which gave the Wow signal its name. The Canadian Politician known as Paul Hellyer revealed that the U.S has been working with aliens, and also revealed that aliens had been visiting earth for thousands of years. These types of almost religions are entering the Western World in many ways such as the Jeti Religion or the spiritual movement. Recently a participant in our Online Think Tank stated that one cannot stop the incoming thoughts feeding human minds from the Universe only suppress them, do nothing or observe the thought. Indeed this is in itself an interesting set of theories and there is some truth to impulse stemming from outside influences on the human mind. For instance FEAR or severe stress will initiate a fight or flight response or even cause one to think about the stimuli and potential actions to take; do nothing? So is this actually a revelation or is it applying unknown quantities to known psychological responses to prove half a point and ask you to infer the rest? But if one does get a thought or impulse and chooses not to act on it, then in fact even if the thought was not one's own they can control it by choice; same thing as denying the thought a place to grow. It is therefore exhibiting freewill. Ever tempt fate? I have but as one wise singer says; "Fate Should Not Tempt Me" so there! Strength of Character, power and control of your own mind and in this potential case that the thoughts are coming from the Universe, then if that were true then you have the control over said system as well. So in this scenario, an entity (human), which can control their own thoughts or anothers, controls all or causes change to a large degree. All thoughts should be observed whether or not they are acted upon. You can learn from thoughts, regardless of how you come about them; that is to say through intuition, observation, experience, learning or in this potential scenario from the Universe itself.
